The final season of “Stranger Things” broke Netflix records with 31.3 million views. The mystery series climbs to ninth place among the most streamed series.
Since the mystery series “Stranger Things” started on Netflix, it has been one of the streaming provider’s most popular productions. The homegrown series recently ended with its fifth season. This was streamed like crazy, broke records and is now one of the most streamed series of all time.
The finale about the group of friends from Hawkins was streamed millions of times by fans and is now breaking records. This could be due to the streaming giant’s release strategy. The final season was divided into three parts. The first episodes were released in November 2025, but the second and third parts were released on public holidays: December 26th and New Year’s Day on January 1st. This meant fans had plenty of time to watch the episodes, which many of them did.
Episode eight marked the XL finale of the series with a running time of 128 minutes. According to a press release from Netflix, this even set a New Year’s streaming record. Exact numbers were not given, but with a total of 31.3 million views, the final season unsurprisingly topped the Netflix charts for the most streamed English-language series.
The series finale therefore dominates the weekly charts, but this is not the only place where the mystery saga has its place – it has also already made it into the top 10 of the most streamed series of all time and is currently in ninth place on the list with 105.7 million views. The list is currently topped by season one of the horror series “Wednesday.” Just ahead of “Stranger Things” at number eight on the list is the third season of “Bridgerton” with 106 million views.
It remains to be seen whether the “Stranger Things” finale can catch up to “Wednesday” Season 1 with 252.1 million views. However, the top 5 are quite realistic. The second season around the character Wednesday Addams is within reach with 119.3 million views. It takes a little more for the top 3: Season 4 of “Stranger Things” is still way ahead with 140.7 million streams. So it remains to be seen where the final season of the series will end up. More precise forecasts can be expected in the next few weeks.
