A homeless man was injured in a subway station in Reinickendorf when he tried to confront a robber who had recently stolen from him.

The 36-year-old man was asleep in the Wittenau underground station when a person approached him around 4.30 a.m. on Sunday morning and felt his pockets. The stranger fled immediately when he realized that he had awakened the sleeping man.

Realizing he had been robbed, the homeless man followed the robber onto an escalator and demanded his money back. He didn’t want to hear about it, kicked the man in the face and fled the scene. The homeless 36-year-old fell off the escalator and sustained minor injuries all over his body.

Witnesses helped the man and took him to a hospital. He was treated as an outpatient and then allowed to walk again.

A robbery department of the police took over the further investigation.
