It promises to be stormy tonight: the KNMI has just issued a code yellow for strong wind gusts that can reach up to 90 km/h along the North Holland coast.
According to the KNMI, there is a chance of heavy gusts of wind for ‘some time’ tonight. Wind gusts of up to about 80 km/h are possible above land, up to about 90 km/h on the coast.
The heavy gusts of wind, which come from a south-westerly direction, disappear at the beginning of the morning.
Road traffic in particular may be affected by the strong wind. The weather institute recommends not to take to the road with a car with a trailer, caravan or truck, to drive more slowly and to keep a greater distance from other road users. Anyone traveling by public transport is advised to consult the current situation before departure.
