Stolen Honda from our country found on the border with Belarus | News

A Honda CRV that is believed to have been stolen in our country turned up on Friday at a border post between Belarus and Lithuania. The car, which still had a Belgian license plate attached, was being driven by a 31-year-old man from Belarus.

Various Lithuanian media reports about the find. The Honda with a Belgian license plate tried to drive from Belarus to Lithuania via the Medininkų border post. When checking the documents, the border guards of the Vilvius district concluded that the Belgian authorities have been looking for the car since August last year.

The 31-year-old Belarusian driver was questioned, but released. The Vilnius Prosecutor’s Office has launched an investigation into the possible acquisition or sale of criminally obtained property. Such an offense is punishable by at least a fine and a maximum of four years’ imprisonment. The Honda CRV is temporarily kept at the border station of Vilnius.
