Stolen car is set on fire with liquid a few days later

A car that was stolen on the Ettensebaan in Breda in August was set on fire a few days later in Papendrecht, South Holland. At Bureau Brabant, the police showed images of the arson on Monday evening.

On August 12, the owner of the dark-colored Hyundai discovered that his car was missing. It must have been stolen between August 10 and 12. But that wasn’t the end of the story.

On Sunday afternoon, August 13, the car turned up at a parking lot at the Stellingmolen in Papendrecht. Images show a man parking the car, getting out and starting with a jerry can full of fuel.

Explosion
He then puts the jerry can in a garbage bag, throws something in the car, followed by an explosion and runs off. The smoke caused damage to homes in the area.

The police blurred the images of the perpetrator. The public prosecutor gives him two weeks to report, otherwise his face will be shown. Witnesses are also asked to come forward.

According to the police, it is unclear whether the man also stole the car.
