StockX: sneaker models of the winter season

The New Year is still young, but the fashionable winter season is already in full swing. Therefore, the resale platform StockX has taken a look at the most sought-after sneaker models for the winter. Creative designs and nostalgic shapes have already characterized the last few months and herald the trends of 2024.

Off-road with Salomon, New Balance and Hoka

The outdoor shoes from Salomon, New Balance and Hoka One rely on a fusion of modern design and comfort. Neutral colors and thick soles are intended to guarantee their appeal among athletes and fashion lovers.

With the ‘XT 6 model’, the French sportswear manufacturer Salomon has developed a unisex shoe that is also suitable for ultra-long distances.

‘Magnet-Mood Indigo’, ‘Castlerock’ and ‘Navy Arctic Grey’ are among the unusual color names of the New Balance ‘2002R’ model. The slip-on from the US sporting goods manufacturer made of nubuck leather and mesh has a Gore-Tex finish that ensures waterproof and windproof properties.

As an off-road shoe, the ‘New Balance 610v1’ model supports sports tours through winter terrain. He found his inspiration in the 2000s, which the detailed design and color scheme are based on.

Hoka One, the brand of the US shoe manufacturer Deckers Outdoor Corporation, presents the ‘One Anacapa Low’ model, which is characterized by a particularly thick sole and an extended heel.

Crowd favorite: Adidas ‘Wales Bonner Sambas’

The rise of the Samba model from the German sporting goods provider Adidas AG, which started in 2023, shows no end: Originally designed for handball, the indoor shoe can be seen everywhere, but is difficult to get and has experienced a price increase of 212 percent on StockX last year.

The new collaboration with British fashion designer Wales Bonner includes Sambas in leopard print, black or cream. The fur look made from pony hair is a special feature. Contrasting stripes and the statement seams typical of Bonn underline the sporty but also Afro-Atlantic spirit of the fashion designer.

Here to stay: skate styles

The Y2K look inspired by the 2000s continues to prevail. With it, skate style is being revived again, which shoe brands reflect in the form of newly interpreted vintage models. This also includes one of Adidas’ best-selling models, ‘Campus 00’. The shoe model, based on the ‘Campus 80’, is available in a deep black ‘Core Black’ look with contrasting stripes, which is complemented by suede and Campus branding.

Nike is once again relying on collaborations of a special kind this season. The ‘SB Dunk Low Jarritos’ was created in collaboration with the Mexican beverage manufacturer Jarritos and is characterized by its eye-catching color combination. A material mix of leather and linen underlines the contrasting accents, including the green sole.

The result of the brand’s joint venture with Californian streetwear label Born X Raised bears the detailed name ‘Nike SB Dunk Low Born X Raised One Block At A Time’. The processed nubuck leather and the silver-colored Nike swoosh offer the blue and white color scheme room to prove themselves. Statements on the tongue and heel are intended to reflect the casualness of Los Angeles.

All of the season’s trends have been brought together by Nike in the ‘VaporWaffle Woven sacai Jean Paul Gaultier Green Gusto’, which was created in collaboration with the French fashion designer Jean Paul Gaultier. There are extensive color palettes, small details and futuristic shapes that are intended to draw attention to the shoe.

Creative lacing causes a stir with the ‘Air Footscape Woven’ from Nike. The white sneaker with a braided look and eye-catching batik pattern, which is reminiscent of cow spots, makes it easy to slip on.

British designer Martine Rose has teamed up with Nike to create the futuristic ‘Shox MR4 Mule Martine Rose’ shoe. A slipper shape with a raised sole held by four individual heels offers a forward-thinking design and is available in a variety of bright yet calm colors.

Although you might think that models from the Californian shoe brand Uggs lack aesthetics, comfort is not lacking. It is also considered the fastest growing label on StockX.

With the brand’s ‘Tazz Slipper’, wearers can exceed themselves: a four centimeter high platform sole, braided seam edging and the typical sheep’s wool blend as a lining characterize this slipper. The similar model ‘Tasman’ with a narrower sole is available in four colors.

The ‘Classic Ultra Mini Boot’ from Uggs has been on social media for a while now. The shortened version of the well-known shoe, which can be combined with wide trousers, is also available in a ‘platform’ edition with a thick sole.
