With goals from Mario Vuskovic and Robert Glatzel, HSV won the match in Nuremberg 2-0 (1-0) on matchday 6 and initially moved up to third place with twelve points. Nuremberg remains in the bottom half of the table with seven points.
Vuskovic’s volley decides the game
HSV was more imaginative in an entertaining and fast-paced first half. After a corner kick, Vuskovic scored a volley for HSV (37′).
The game remained hard-fought in the second half, but Nuremberg was no longer able to put decisive pressure on Hamburg. In injury time, Robert Glatzel completed a HSV counterattack to decide (90 + 2).
