European premiere in Schwerin

Stewart Copeland became world famous as the drummer for The Police. He rearranges songs like “Roxanne”, “Don’t Stand So Close to Me” and “Message in a Bottle” with orchestra, but also presents solo songs.

He chose Schwerin for the European premiere of his tour. Here he celebrates the European premiere of his tour on July 15th and 16th together with the Mecklenburgische Staatskapelle Schwerin. Ahead of the tour, Copeland commented on the creative process:

“Through my two decades of work as a film music composer, I have become familiar with orchestration. That gave birth to the idea of bringing these two worlds of rock and classical together,” said Copeland. “The songs of Sting, the inventions of Andy Summers and my artistic freedom, all this is brought together for two extraordinary evenings with the Mecklenburg State Orchestra. And it will be fun for everyone to perform in front of the Schwerin Castle in the background.”
