Stephanie Venier and Christian Walder want to get married in September. But that’s not the only nice news for the two fiance ski stars.
Austria’s ski dream couple awaits a child: Stephanie Venier and Christian Walder become parents for the first time. This was announced by the former ski racer and her even active fiance via Instagram in the same sport.
“We kept a little secret,” wrote the couple about a video in which she had a picture of a polaroid camera printed out. Shortly afterwards, an ultrasound picture of a baby appears on the white photo paper.
“Our love grows in the most magical way,” wrote the couple on. “The beginning of an eternal love. Our little one comes to us in 2026.”
The news triggered a wave of enthusiasm at Veniers and Walder’s colleagues. The two Austrian ski racers Katharina Liensberger and Anna Veith congratulated Evi Die Dinebacher stand as well as the former cross-country skier. “So nice, all the best to you,” wrote the German. The Swiss ski racer Joana Hählen joined the congratulations.
Stephanie Venier thanked her Instagram story for the many news. “We are really happy!” Added. In addition, she made it clear that her career ended last year had nothing to do with pregnancy. She had been sure to end her career for a long time.
At the World Cup in Saalbach-Hinterglemm in February 2025, the 31-year-old Venier had secured the title in the Super-G-and thus became the oldest world champion in history in this discipline. In August, and thus just a few months after her greatest sporting triumph, she then pulled the line.
Venier has been in a relationship with Walder since 2023. The couple foke in early 2025. The wedding is planned for September.
