Due to the bad weather, Stiefkiekn in ‘t Duuster is canceled tonight. The event, organized by Stichting Magisch Volksvermaak Drenthe, is an evening walk along several living statues, which leads through the center and forests of Westerbork.
“We have looked at the weather forecast this morning and unfortunately we have to decide to finish our event,” says chairman Albertje Sok. “Tonight it will probably continue to blow hard and rain and we don’t want to run the risk that accidents will happen.”
“Unfortunately we have to disappoint a lot of people,” Sok sighs. “And we have also incurred a lot of costs for organizing. That we now have to cancel it is also a financial punishment for us.”
