Steeplechase runner Bebendorf sets the best performance

Steeplechase runner Karl Bebendorf set a personal best at the international track and field competition in Finland.

The athlete from Dresdner SC 1898 scratched the 8:20 minute mark for the first time on his parade course over 3000 meters in Turku and crossed the finish line in third place after 8:20.43 minutes.

The fifth place in the European Championship undercut his two-year-old record by two seconds, five seconds are still missing from the direct standard of the world association for the World Championships in Budapest. The Ethiopian Abraham Seme was victorious (8:17,44).

Javelin thrower Weber also solid

European javelin champion Julian Weber from USC Mainz was also satisfied with third place and a throw of 84.85 meters. The Czech Jakub Vadljech topped the world best list for the year with his victory with 89.51 meters.

Katharina Trost from the LG Stadtwerke Munich convinced just under a month before the German championships as eighth over 1500 meters. In 4:05.80 minutes, the World Cup semi-finalist was able to improve her season record by around three seconds. She had only been faster on this route three times.

The German championships on July 8th and 9th in Kassel are the first big check on the way to the World Championships in Budapest in August. The world title fights will take place from August 19th to 27th.
