Before the game of his Pittsburgh Steelers in Dublin, Quarterback Skylar Thompson becomes the victim of a crime. There are already details of the incident.

Actually, the European games of the NFL, which are now taking place every season, are always highlights for both football stars and especially for fans away from the United States. This weekend the Pittsburgh Steelers and Minnesota Vikings made a guest appearance in Ireland, while playing in Dublin the Steelers prevailed on Sunday with 24:21.

But before, however, a Steelers player had a shock on the strip abroad: Replacement Quarterback Skylar Thompson was attacked in Dublin on Friday. This reports several US media, including the Sports broadcaster ESPN.

According to information from the Irish medium “Irish Independent”, the 28-year-old was injured in the attack in the Dublin district of Temple Bar and had to be treated in the hospital for a short time. Even more: he was “attacked and robbed”. In the meantime, Thompson is back with the team. Already on Sunday he joined the team again, but was not used in the game against the Minnesota Vikings. In any case, Thompson accompanied the team on the trip to Europe despite the current injury. The 28-year-old still laboratories on a muscle fiber tear.

“We have knowledge of the incident and work with the NFL security department in order to find out more details,” said Steelers spokesman Burt. The franchise did not yet provide any further information. Thompson has been playing for the Steelers since January 2025, was previously in the Miami Dolphins squad (2022 to 2024). He has been used in ten NFL games so far in the course of his career and threw a touchdown pass.
