Statement from Trabzonspor President Ahmet Ağaoğlu: These allegations are not true

Trabzonspor President Ahmet Ağaoğlu made a statement via the official website. Here are those words…

After the earthquake disaster that shook our country deeply, as a club, we organized organizations in order to show the football family to stand in unity and solidarity. It is known to the public that we watched the Basel match we played in Trabzon together with the TFF Management, our Club Presidents and the supporters of all our teams, and displayed an image that won the appreciation of everyone.

Our aim was to give the message that we stand by our state and our nation with all our means during this difficult process.

Afterwards, Fenerbahce President Mr. Ali Koç and Beşiktaş President Mr. We attended together with our TFF President and other Club Presidents to the invitation they made in order to maintain this unity and solidarity in the postponement matches to be played on the pitches of Ahmet Nur Çebi. Our aim is the same, our motto is; We stood shoulder to shoulder with our state and nation.

As written in some media organs, the statements that the other club presidents left the stadium and I sat until the end of the match during the protest made by a group of fans while the Fenerbahçe – Konyaspor match was being played do not reflect the truth in any way. 10-15 minutes before the end of the match, we got up together with the other club presidents and left the stadium together.

The next day, at 07:00, he went to the earthquake area and met with our Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, Mr. Murat Kurum and our Minister of Interior, Mr. We also called Süleyman Soylu on the phone and expressed our gratitude to them for their devoted work and superhuman efforts for days. As we did yesterday, we told them that we, as a community, stand by our state and our nation with all our means.

At the same time, we exchanged ideas with the Union of Clubs and the Turkish Football Federation on how we should proceed in the ‘Shoulder to Shoulder’ aid campaign that we plan to carry out on 1 March.

And yet, despite the fact that all club presidents left the stadium while some protests were held during the match, the articles written as ‘Ahmet Ağaoğlu did not get up from his place’ are not even remotely related to reality, and we could not understand for what purpose they were made.

It is respectfully presented to the attention of the public.
