A total of 41.9 million euros has been registered for the latest government bonds. This is reported by the Debt Agency.
20.3 million euros were registered for the five-year government bond and 21.6 million euros for the eight-year one.
The proceeds do not come close to the 21.9 billion euros raised when the previous government bond was issued in September. At that time it concerned a one-year government bond with reduced withholding tax, good for a return of 2.81 percent. The new government bonds offer a net 1.82 percent over five years and 2.03 over eight years and did not have a reduced withholding tax.
The Debt Agency wants to issue another government bond with a term of one year in 2024 and thus raise 13.5 billion euros.
