A new residential area must be erected on the south side of Zuidwolde. The municipality of De Wolden has the plan to have 148 homes built there, where buyers and tenants of all ages are welcome.
For example, there must be dozens of owner -occupied homes for starters, families and veterans in the housing market. There will also be thirty social rental homes, according to a letter from the municipality.
The intention is that the neighborhood will come between the Middelveenseweg, Kienholt and the Middelveen. There was a poultry farm along the latter street, but it has been in the hands of the municipality since December and will give way to the houses.
The majority of the area mainly consists of grassland and agricultural land. Like other municipalities in Drenthe, De Wolden hopes to be able to build a lot of houses, this plan could contribute to that.
At the moment the plans can be viewed for local residents and interested parties. They can lodge an objection for six weeks if they want to do so. After that, the city council will be presented with the plan to give permanent permission (or not).
