Start the summer semester 2024 now with the Lübeck orientation semester

There are over 20,000 study programs in Germany, almost 10,000 of these are bachelor’s degrees. If you don’t explore your interests early on, you’ll be faced with the question after graduation at the latest: What do I do after school?says the Vice President for Studies and Digitalization, Prof. Jochen Abke, of the TH Lübeck. Abke is the course director for the new orientation semester.

Get to know up to ten degree programs at TH Lübeck

From mid-March to mid-July, participants learn about up to ten courses such as biomedical engineering, computer science or mechanical engineering, take various compulsory modules and experience everyday student life up close. Even those who have already made a choice of course for the winter semester can use the time for intensive preparation. The great thing is that our students can have their achievements credited for later studies. This gives them a head start in the first semestersays Stefanie Meyer, course coordinator at LOS.

Orientate, qualify, decide

With the LOS we want to offer orientation. The participants learn in small groups and we support them with coaching and tailor-made lectures to try things out and decide. And if in the end you decide against studying and in favor of training, that’s okay too. It is important to us that students make a conscious decisionsays Jochen Abke.

Individual care

The participants take the modules mathematics, MINT orientation, basics of programming and project and self-management and are individually accompanied by the TH Lübeck talent scout, Stefanie Strozyk. In addition to providing an insight into the degree programs, the LOS organizers invite you to company excursions, report on possible career fields and establish contact with students from higher semesters and alumni.
