For the second time in a row, SpaceX, the space company of Elon Musk, has lost control of an unmanned Starship rocket. Minutes after the launch, the company lost contact with the rocket, a spokesperson said during a live broadcast.

The rocket was launched from Boca Chica in the US state of Texas. Different Videos on social media Show images of burning debris flies through the sky near Zuid-Florida and the Bahamas. As a result of the falling debris, flights at Orlando International Airport were kept to the ground for a short time.

Spin

The 123 meter high rocket that was launched consists of two parts. The lower part, the so-called Super Heavy Purchase Rocket, was successfully disconnected and did, as planned, returned to the earth, where it was successfully collected by a SpaceX tap.

It went wrong in the second part, which coupled from the carrying rocket. At an altitude of 150 kilometers, the contact was lost and the spacecraft started to spin. Then it fell apart.

“Unfortunately this happened the last time too, so we now have some practice,” said Huot, a spokesman for SpaceX, during the live stream. The flight should have actually taken an hour The second part of the rocket should have controlled in the sea. There were four fake satellites on board, which had to be deported in space.

Also explosion

The failed launch comes just over a month after the seventh Starship flight also ended in an explosion. Even then, SpaceX lost contact with the spacecraft and exploded a part of the rocket.

Then the explosion was caused by a fire that arose near an oxygen tank. As a result, the self -destruction system came into effect on board. Research into what went wrong with the most recent launch is still ongoing. The intention is that the missiles of Musk eventually bring large amounts of satellites to space and later also transport people to the moon and to Mars.
