It is quite possible that stars on the canvas to RTL 4 or SBS 6 are now moving Omroep Max because of an argument with presenter Özcan Akyol pulls the plug from the show, according to Tina Nijkamp. “Shopping.”
Omroep Max-Baas Jan Slagter believes that his presenter Özcan Akyol did not show enough repentance during his hours of interview in Zomergasten for his role in the Matthijs van Nieuwkerk scandal. For that reason he decided to fire him more or less through Shownieuws as the face of stars on the canvas, and that led to a riot.
‘In good consultation’
According to Özcan, he had also been committed to being able to present stars on the canvas in 2026. Apparently there has now been consultation between all parties involved, because Max announced last night in a press release that the program will cease to exist after the coming series in the fall.
“In good consultation with NPO and presenter Özcan Akyol, Omroep Max has decided that the Stars on the canvas program will not return for the time being after 2025. That means that the series that will be on TV this fall is the last one,” it sounds.
Streak underneath
Why was this decision made? “This decision is the result of the conversations that have been conducted in recent days between Omroep MAX, the NPO and Özcan Akyol,” said a spokesperson. “Both the presenter and the broadcaster are satisfied that they can now put a line under the dispute and say goodbye to each other in harmony.”
“Omroep Max thanks Özcan Akyol for his contribution to the Stars on the Doek program and wishes him the very best for his further career. Özcan Akyol says that he has enjoyed working on this series together with a professional editor. He is now looking forward to all the other challenges in his career.”
To RTL or SBS
The rumor that Max would continue with Matthijs van Nieuwkerk as a presenter can therefore go into the trash. What now? Does this program really have to go off the tube? “No, not in theory. Stars on the canvas is a foreign format (English) and therefore not from Omroep MAX,” explains Tina Nijkamp TV authority on her analysis canal.
“In theory, therefore, an RTL 4, streaming service, SBS 6 or other public broadcaster such as BNNVARA could take over the format, just as happened with the moving court and the most dangerous roads.”
Shop
Stars on the canvas is just back on the market, Tina explains. “The producer Mediawater can go shopping with it. I’m curious how this ends! Well viewed program, namely!”
“It will soon be popping up at NTR or BNNVARA including EUS?” She concludes.
