Bitter bankruptcy: Ronaldo club missed the final

With Al-Nassr, Cristiano Ronaldo was among the last four of the Asian Champions League. The opponent there was too strong. After the game, “CR7” comments emotionally.
Cristiano Ronaldo has to wait for his first big title with Al-Nassr. The club from Saudi Arabia defeated the Japanese representative Kawasaki Frontale with 2: 3 (1: 1) in the semi-finals of the Asian Champions League.
Sadio Mané ensured the interim compensation in the 28th minute after Kawasaki had previously taken the lead. Shortly afterwards, Ronaldo had the chance to take the lead, but only hit the latte (34th). Mohamed Simakan, formerly the Bundesliga club RB Leipzig, started in the central defense of Al-Nassr.
After the game, the 40-year-old Ronaldo was still combative. He wrote on X: “Sometimes the dream has to wait. I am proud of this team and everything we gave on the pitch.”
The final on May 3rd rises in Dschidda. Kawasaki Frontale meets Al-Nahli, trained by the German Matthias Jaissle. The Saudi club had prevailed 3-1 against record winner Al-Hilal in the semifinals-among other things through a goal of ex-Bundesliga striker Roberto Firmino. Both finalists could win the title for the first time.
