St. Pauli is back in first place – victory against Heidenheim

2nd league, 27th matchday

Hamburg prevailed in a tight game and thus took over the lead in the 2nd division again, at least temporarily. It stays exciting until the end.

The promotion race of the 2nd league continues to pick up speed – FC St. Pauli presented on Friday evening: The Hamburg team won 1-0 (0-0) against 1. FC Heidenheim and are at least temporarily the front runner again. Daniel-Kofi Kyereh (67th) scored for the hosts to win, but Heidenheim had chances to equalize well into the final stages.

St. Pauli is now first again with 51 points ahead of SV Darmstadt 98 and Werder Bremen (48 each), who meet in the top game on Saturday.

The guests held back in front of 27,433 spectators and got the best chance of the first half through Stefan Schimmer (22nd), the Heidenheim attacker failed from close range at the well-positioned goalkeeper Nikola Vasilj.

St. Pauli increased after the break, but Simon Makienok (48′) and Guido Burgstaller (53′) were unable to take advantage of their opportunities. When the game leveled off a bit, Kyereh was there free-standing after a cross. On the other side, Tim Kleindienst (83rd) hit the crossbar.

Karlsruhe gives Aue no chance

For Erzgebirge Aue, after the 0: 3 (0: 0) against Karlsruher SC, staying up in the league is becoming increasingly unlikely. Philipp Hofmann (54th), Marvin Wanitzek (67th) and Marc Lorenz (85th) were successful for the guests, who ended a series of four competitive games without a win. Two weeks after the 1-0 win over Regensburg, Aue put in another strong fight, but missed the best chances against KSC, who had been harmless for a long time.

After six years in the second division, Aue is increasingly threatened with going into the third division. The Saxons are eight points behind the relegation place, but still have a game in hand.
