BVB continues to suffer from personnel problems. Before the game against newly promoted Kiel, there are still question marks about the appearances of several players.

The personnel concerns at Borussia Dortmund do not stop even before the game against newly promoted Holstein Kiel. “Perhaps you can hear it in my voice, it got us all a little bit,” said BVB coach Nuri Şahin, slightly injured, before the Bundesliga away game on Tuesday evening (from 6.30 p.m. in the live ticker on t-online) in the north.

Things are looking up for the sick Emre Can, Nico Schlotterbeck, Ramy Bensebaini, Waldemar Anton and Filippo Mané. However, Şahin does not yet know whether they will be fit for the game. “The boys were feeling really bad, they’re on the right track. But we have to wait for training today.”

Winger Karim Adeyemi is now also new to the Dortmund defensive team. There is a question mark behind his commitment, just like with Jamie Gittens and Donyell Malen. The latter is apparently about to move to Aston Villa. As the pay TV channel Sky reports on X, the two clubs have reached an agreement. The deal therefore includes a transfer fee of 25 million euros and possible bonus payments of five million euros, of which three million are guaranteed.

Before the transfer can finally be completed, however, small details still need to be clarified. “I know there is movement,” said coach Nuri Şahin on Monday before the game, but he didn’t reveal anything more. But BVB will definitely “do something else” if the transfer goes through.

Dortmund are facing an urgent need for reinforcements on the left side of the defense. As several media outlets consistently report, there is great interest in Renato Veiga from Chelsea FC. The defensive player can also play in central defense.

Veiga played for FC Augsburg on loan from Sporting Lisbon in the second half of the 2022/23 season. The 1.90 meter tall Portugal international came to Chelsea, where he was preferred in the Conference League, in the summer via FC Basel – for 14 million euros.
