U21 national coach Antonio Di Salvo has nominated Stuttgart’s Noah Darvich for Leipzig’s Max Finkgräfe. As the DFB reported, Finkgräfe left early as a precautionary measure for health reasons. The association did not go into more detail about a possible injury. Darvich, however, had already arrived at the team hotel on Saturday evening. If the 19-year-old were to play, it would be his debut for the U21s. A few days ago he was on the pitch for the U20.
After the compulsory task against Northern Ireland (3-0) has been completed, the German youth team will face league leaders Greece (6 p.m./ProSieben MAXX) on Monday to qualify for the European Championship. The DFB team lost the first leg 2-3, which is why they need a win in Athens. Only the group winner secures a direct ticket to the 2027 tournament in Albania.
