SpVgg Bayreuth separates from coach Kleine – after the 2:5 bankruptcy in Elversberg

bottom of the 3rd division

One day after the 5-2 defeat at leaders SV Elversberg, SpVgg Bayreuth parted ways with coach Thomas Kleine. Like the third division bottom on Sunday on his club website announced that this “decision had already been made in the last week and, after the fifth defeat in a row, is now the consequence of the sporting downturn”. Bayreuth has collected 31 points from 35 league games so far, for Kleine there was an average of 0.95 points in a total of 39 games.

“Thomas made sure that we became competitive at all over the course of the season. His work is in every point that we have on the account. We are very grateful to him for that. Unfortunately, in the last few games, we haven’t managed to stabilize the noticeable performance development after the winter break and to establish a starting eleven. As bitter as the moment is, starting tomorrow it’s all about shaping the future,” explained Dr. Wolfgang Gruber, shareholder of Spielbetriebs-GmbH. The previous assistant coach Julian Kolbeck will look after the team on an interim basis.
