Sprint Olympic champion Marcell Jacobs is making his comeback at the Istaf Indoor in Berlin.

The 27-year-old Italian, who won the 100 meters in 9.80 seconds at the Tokyo Olympics, will start in the capital on February 4 for the first time since his triumph in an official race, the organizers said.

The gold medalist will be aiming for victory in the 60m after having to settle for second place last year. Jacobs meets the German sprinters Deniz Almas, Lucas Ansah-Peprah, Kevin Kranz and Marvin Schulte.

Pole vault world record holder Armand Duplantis from Sweden and the German sprinter Gina Lückenkemper, who is making her comeback in the hall after 1099 days, have already confirmed their participation. Based on the current regulation and the organizer concept, 1500 spectators are allowed to attend the athletics meeting. The 2G plus rule applies.
