New dishes on the menu – so time to go to the Spreegold again. The small chain now has four restaurants in Berlin.
The branch at the Schönhauser Allee underground station has the largest terrace of the quartet. Large beer garden tables with a view of the elevated railway and four smaller tables on Stargarder Straße. So enough space for all hungry mouths.
The dinner menu (which is chock-full of English terms) includes things like salmon tartare (€14), quinoa power salad (€16) and grilled king prawns (€21). You no longer have to order at the counter and later pick up the food yourself – Spreegold now has waiters too. And very friendly!
I want to try the Real Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich (23 euros). 250 grams of pink seared beef, cream cheese, Dijon mustard and cheddar cheese. Unfortunately, the meat does not have a great aroma and tastes weak. At least the expensive truffle fries (14 euros) that I ordered extra make me happy?
There is plenty of shaved truffle and truffle mayonnaise on the fries – but unfortunately they are very mealy. It’s really a waste of money.
