Spotify releases 2025 Wrapped: global trends, top lists and personalized annual reviews now exclusively in the app.
The time has come: Spotify has this Wednesday (December 3rd) “2025 Wrapped” published. The annual review shows global trends and top lists – and, what is most interesting, the personal reviews, i.e. what you heard most often from January to December.
New: musical age
Spotify advertises new features, a “bigger and more interactive experience than ever”. In addition to the options “Your Top Artists”, “Your Top Genres” and “Your Top Songs”, the streaming service now also threatens “Your Musical Age” and “Wrapped Party”.
The global top spots on Spotify in 2025:
- Bad Bunny is global “top artist” in 2025 – this is the fourth time he has received the “title” according to Spotify, after 2020, 2021 and 2022.
- The global “top song” of 2025 is “Die With A Smile” by Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars.
- When it comes to albums, Bad Bunny also prevails with “DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS”.
- The Joe Rogan Experience is the top podcast worldwide for the sixth year in a row – what can you do.
- When it came to audio books, “Fourth Wing” by Rebecca Yarros took the top spot.
Data collection – this is what we know about it
Data for Spotify Wrapped is collected from January 1 through the fall of that year to create the review. However, when the company stops analyzing its customers’ listening habits remains a trade secret. Molly Holder, Spotify’s senior director of product personalization, told Mashable in 2024 that this was just “a few weeks before the release of the Wrapped product.”
In recent years, the feature has been released the week after Thanksgiving – which took place last Thursday, November 27th.
Fans hope for improvement after disappointment in 2024
Spotify subscribers are looking forward to the 2025 event with an extra dose of thrill. Because in 2024, many music fans’ joy quickly turned into discontent. According to statements on social media, the design was careless and generic and the analyzes were sometimes even incorrect. Top artists were featured in reviews that users had never heard before, and the listening time didn’t match reality either.
Spotify Wrapped lovers hope that their criticism will be heard and implemented. In the announcement post, some users reminded Spotify of the misery from last year and asked the provider to improve.
