Heardle is one of the quizzes that appeared after the lingo-like guessing game wordle became popular. Of Heardle people get six attempts to guess a song and the artist based on excerpts from the intro. After each attempt, the fragment expands slightly.
For now stays Heardle a standalone website. A new song can be guessed every day. If the solution is known, it will redirect to Spotify. This is initially happening in the US, UK, Ireland, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Other countries will follow later.
Spotify writes that Heardle has millions of players, but specific numbers are not mentioned.
Spotify sees Heardle not only as a game, but also as a way to discover music. “By playing, you might rediscover old music you had forgotten, discover new artists, or finally figure out where the tune you’ve had in your head for a long time came from.”
