Sports plane crashes after explosion
The plane came from Germany and was on its way to Cambridge but ran into problems above Koolkerke. There was an explosion and a screw came loose. The pilot was able to send out a distress signal just in time and deploy his parachute, after which he and the aircraft landed safely in a meadow. The pilot is unharmed, according to police. The screw has not yet been found, the aviation police have also been informed.
