The AgID, theAgency for Digital Italyapproved the “operational guidelines for the use of SPID services by minors“. This way it will offer the opportunity to have their own digital identity also for boys and girls who have not yet reached the age of majority. And of thus access the online services of the Public Administration in full security and data protection.
Spid for minors: what it is and how it works
The guidelines provide for diversified treatments and services according to whether the minors are over or under 14. The latter, in fact, they will be able to use the SPID only in a limited form and under close supervision of the parent. And they will be able to use their Digital Identity exclusively for online services provided by schools.
Minors who, on the other hand, are over the age of 14, will be able to equip themselves with SPIDs to access various services. Those ofINPS in the myinps reserved area, al Electronic Health Record or at verification of driving license points for mopeds.

The parents will ask for it
Whether under 14 or not, it is always the parents who have to request the SPID for the minor. And they will do so by contacting their digital identity manager and logging in, with level 2 credentialsto the service made available.
On reaching the age of majority, then, the interested party can choose whether to keep or revoke the digital identity.
Once a Spid has been released, the service provider makes a special service accessible to the parent, which allows you to manage your child’s digital identity. And, whenever the minor intends to use his / her digital identity to access a public administration service, the parent will receive a push notification from the child.
In this way, the parent will be able to check, confirm or discontinue any request from the child’s digital identity.
Spid for minors, maximum protection of the minor
The guidelines are based on the maximum protection of the minor. For this too the information on the processing of personal databoth by the digital identity manager and by the service provider, it must be formulated in a particularly clear and simple languageconcise and comprehensive, easily accessible and understandable.
