At the weekend, numerous fans flocked to the stadiums of the 3rd division. This led to a new record.

The 3rd league writes history: For the first time since it was founded, more than four million fans have visited the games – and three game days before the end of the season. The third highest German division thus clearly exceeds the previous record from last season (3.689 million).

One reason for the boom is clubs like Dynamo Dresden and promoted Alemannia Aachen. Both teams guarantee full stadiums with strong number of visitors. Overall, the 3rd league reaches a section of 11,472 this season and thus brings the five -performance for the first time.

No other third division scores worldwide similar values ​​to the German. Dynamo Dresden has an average of 28,899 fans, Alemannia Aachen to 25,762 – higher figures than with six clubs in the Bundesliga.

Individual game days also set new records: Last weekend, 144,714 spectators came to the stadiums – the second best value in the history of the 3rd division. Just a few weeks ago, a new all -time record was set up with 150,413 fans.
