Special team must prevent unnecessary admission of elderly people to hospital

The number of unnecessary admissions to hospitals is increasing. By 2025, an average of 815 beds were unnecessarily occupied every day. In most cases, this concerns patients who are over 75 years old, according to figures from Dutch Hospital Data. Many hospitals therefore work with a special team that ensures that the elderly receive the right treatment, if necessary outside the hospital.
