Special honor for shooting star Mathys Tel

Mathys Tel recently took the next step in his development at FC Bayern. As a joker, the very young Frenchman brought a breath of fresh air into the record champions’ game on several occasions. The attacker has now been honored for one of his flashes of inspiration.

As the Munich team announced on their website, Tel’s extremely impressive goal to make it 4-2 in the Champions League home game against Manchester United (final score 4-3) was voted Bayern’s goal of the month for September by the fans.

sport.de wrote in his live ticker: “Substitute Tel puts the lid on it! The Frenchman takes down a chip ball from Kimmich in the penalty area and sends the ball crashing into the roof from ten meters. No chance for Onana!”

The FCB supporters were similarly enthusiastic about the Sunday shot, which won the election with a clear majority (46%). Second and third place went to Leroy Sané’s goal to make it 2-2 against RB Leipzig and Konrad Laimer’s 2-0 goal in the DFB Cup against Preußen Münster.

Mathys Tel is on the rise at FC Bayern

Tel was signed by Stade Rennes for 20 million euros last summer under former coach Julian Nagelsmann. After an impressive debut season with five goals, the youngster started this year under Thomas Tuchel.

The agile offensive man has already scored six goals in eleven competitive games for FC Bayern, although he mostly only came on as a substitute.

As a reward, Tel was called up for the French U21 national team for the first time. Coach Thierry Henry helped him make his debut against Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the striker thanked him for the trust with the assist for the 2-1 winning goal in stoppage time.

Parallel to his U21 debut, rumors arose that the German Football Association was interested in naturalizing the top talent, fueled by statements from DFB director Rudi Völler. As a result, Tel clearly declared its support for France.
