Madrid (AP) – The Spanish Football Association wants to report a racist insult against a defender of FC Cadiz.

A spectator imitated a monkey when black Carlos Akapo came on in the 60th minute of Monday’s away game against Granada FC, news agency Europa Press reported.

Attempts are currently being made to identify the perpetrator, said La Liga. “He called me a monkey. That kind of thing hits me and besides, incidents like this need to be made visible so that these people who don’t represent Granada fans aren’t allowed in the stadiums,” Akapo said after the game.
