Spain wins the ATP Cup even without Rafael Nadal

Even without top star Rafael Nadal, Spain’s tennis men clinched their second group win at the ATP Cup in Sydney.

Led by oldie Roberto Bautista Agut (33), the Iberians clearly defeated Norway 3-0. Spain had already won 3-0 at the start against Chile.

Bautista Agut represented Nadal again brilliantly as the Spanish number one and defeated the world number eight Casper Ruud 6: 4, 7: 6 (7: 4).

Pablo Carreno Busta scored the second point with a 6: 3, 6: 3 against outsider Viktor Durasovic. The last group opponent for the Spaniards is Serbia, which competes without Novak Djokovic.

Poland also celebrated their second win in Group D with a 3-0 win against Georgia and can get their semi-final ticket on Wednesday with a win against Argentina. Only the four group winners reach the semifinals.

Argentina also secured a 3-0 win against Greece with a 6: 7 (5: 7), 6: 3, 6: 3 win by Diego Schwartzman over the French Open finalist Stefanos Tsitsipas and kept their chance for the semi-finals .

In the absence of world number one Djokovic, Serbia lost to the Chileans 1: 2.
