With the help of technical analysis, investors can quickly examine many stocks. This gives investors an insight into the general state of the market. Given this added value, our regularly conducted objective evaluation based on momentum, the 200-day line and relative strength according to Levy is particularly important. We check how many individual stocks from the three most important investment regions of Germany, Europe and the USA are in a bullish trend – measured against the three criteria mentioned above. A positive momentum, a price above the most observed smoothing line and an RSL value greater than 1 serve as our benchmarks. The table below shows our objective evaluation, which is unspectacular but better than its reputation. An underlying upward trend can be assumed for both Europe and the S&P 500®. Only in Germany is the “200-day line” criterion narrowly missed – only 48.8% of German “blue chips” are currently trading above the most commonly observed smoothing line. The other two criteria also signal a “green light” in this country.
