“Sow out” and “let the cow fly”: FCK celebrates promotion to the second division, Red Devils back in the second division – SWR – regional

His team saw the relegation “not as a punishment, but as an opportunity”, the FCK coach continued. And that’s exactly what he always preached to his team. Even after the zero number in the first leg. “The lads gave their all. Some of them couldn’t even walk properly, but they put everything into the game today and got their reward.”

Schuster confirms: “Stay FCK coach”

After promotion, he will remain coach of the Red Devils, Schuster continued. “If I’m not given leave tonight,” he said with a smile in an interview with SWR sports editor Bernd Schmitt. “I have a working paper for the 2nd and 3rd leagues – so I’m staying beyond the season.”

“The boys should let the cow fly”

At the same time he challenged his team one last time for the evening. This should be proactive. Because he doesn’t know whether a celebration is planned, says Schuster: “I have no idea. The boys should come up with something. We haven’t planned anything. But they should let the cow fly – they deserve it!”

Daniel Hanslik is someone who could lead the party. Because the offensive player was already a leader on the pitch. There he scored the all-important 1-0 (59th minute) and thus rewarded his team for a strong phase after the half-time break. And so laid the foundation for the victory that evening and thus the promotion. Philipp Hercher (90th + 2) then finally put the lid on it in injury time.

Hanslik: “This is how you write history”

“Something like that is indescribable,” said goalscorer Hanslik, who was difficult for the Dresden defense to take hold of. The offensive all-rounder could be found everywhere on the pitch and kept boosting the FCK offensive.

Hanslik’s “Game of Life”

“I’ve never experienced that before,” he said. “For the club, for us, for our fans, this is a long-awaited success. Thank God we rewarded ourselves.” When asked if he had played the game of his life, the 25-year-old replied: “With the success behind it, I can sign it. That’s how you write history. It’s wonderful to achieve such a goal together.”

A goal that should be celebrated together with the fans in Kaiserslautern on Wednesday (SWR will broadcast the celebration live from 6:15 p.m. on SWR television and at swr.de/sport). Hanslik doesn’t want to think about the celebration just yet, but let the party with the fans come to him – and then enjoy!

Defender Kevin Kraus, however, was more specific and demanded: “I hope that as many fans as possible will come.” Because you have “seen in the last few weeks what a club like FCK can mobilize”. Kraus even asked the followers: “Let’s celebrate together and just have a big break!

Kraus: “We are very happy”

But before Wednesday in the Palatinate metropolis, one last show of strength was due in Dresden. Mobilize all forces once again, it was said for the FCK pros. Or, as Kraus put it: “When you play football, you just want to leave everything on the field. Showing passion and heart for the club you play for. We showed that today. We are so happy and will be like that let the sow out.” Said it and disappeared into the cabin where the party was already in full swing.
