According to Fabrizio Romano
Southampton FC would like to go into the future together with Armando Broja. As Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reported, the “Saints” are keen to retain the 20-year-old Chelsea center forward beyond the loan agreed until 2022. The Premier League club is reportedly ready to break the club’s internal transfer record for a permanent commitment.
Southampton FC, currently 12th in the league, loaned Broja from the Blues last summer – the Albania international had previously extended his contract with Chelsea until 2026. The club coached by Ralph Hasenhüttl is preparing an offer of around 25 million pounds (equivalent to 29.8 million euros), it is said. The most expensive addition to the “Saints” so far is Danny Ings (29), who came from Liverpool FC in 2019 for EUR 25.1 million and was sold on to Aston Villa two years later at a profit – for EUR 29.42 million.

Broja was already on loan for Vitesse Arnhem in the Eredivisie in 2020/21, scoring 11 times in 34 games for the Dutch and also providing three assists. Southampton have scored seven goals and one assist in 21 games so far. Right-back Tino Livramento (19) moved with him from Chelsea to Premier League rivals. Broja comes from the notorious Loan Army and is currently the youngest player in England with at least five league goals.
Broja opted for Albania and against England – how do Chelsea plan?
The right-footer spent most of his life on the island, but decided to play for the Albanian national team because of his family’s origins. Broja, who admires the Brazilian Ronaldo, has played for Chelsea’s youth teams since 2009 and is considered a big fan of his home club. It currently seems unclear how the Blues plan with their attacker. Most recently, among other things, “Guardians” reports that fans want Broja a chance – just as they have successfully done for Mason Mount, Reece James, Trevoh Chalobah and Callum Hudson-Odoi. Asked about Broja’s future, coach Thomas Tuchel, who is said to appreciate the youngster very much, did not want to look at his cards about a week ago, only spoke of “our” player.
