One of South Africa’s most popular rappers, AKA, whose real name is Kiernan Forbes, 35, has been shot dead. The shooting incident took place in the city of Durban in front of a restaurant on Friday, February 10.
A close friend of Forbes was also killed in the incident Tebello ‘Tibz’ Motsoane.
The two were on their way to celebrate Forbes’ birthday at a nightclub where the doctor was scheduled to perform. It is still unclear why the friends were shot in front of the nightclub and the police are investigating the motive.
Just hours before his death, the 35-year-old artist posted an ad on his Instagram regarding his upcoming album, which is set for a February 27 release date.
