The flag hangs half-mast on Sunday at the Pius X college in Bladel. All parents of students received a letter from the school after the accident. The death of the boy has hit the school deeply, says Miriam Maas, director of HAVO/VWO. “It’s a fierce event. We are all in shock.”

On Sunday morning there was a meeting for teachers, students and parents at the school. “There they could find support,” says Maas. Next week a memorial room will be set up in the school.

The director says that professional help is also called in for students and teachers. “Our first care goes to his classmates and students who knew him well. We have a team of people ready to offer help where necessary.”

On social media, the school also put a message to inform everyone about the death. It states that Noud is remembered as ‘a sweet, committed student’. His former judo school also says that the grief is great.

The municipality of Hilvarenbeek also announced in a press release on Saturday with the family, friends and acquaintances of the boy.

More often accidents on N395
In the past it has often gone wrong on the N395, which connects Diessen and Middelbeers. Cyclists and pedestrians often have to cross this road, but according to local residents there is a run too fast.

Local residents, local politicians and members of the States have been ringing the bell for years. They want the road to be made safer.
