Now it’s getting quiet: The Sony WH-1000XM4 headphones offer strong noise canceling and good sound. Amazon reduced them for Prime Day. A good deal?
Anyone who travels by bus or train every day will love these Bluetooth headphones: the design and the many convenient functions make the over-ears from Sony the perfect companion. In comparison, they offer surprisingly good active noise canceling (ANC) and thus ensure quiet moments in stressful everyday life.
Stiftung Warentest awarded the test grade “good” (2.0) in 2021. With a purchase price of around 280 euros, the headphones are not exactly cheap, but there is a lot of comfort: control with touch operation, support by language assistants and a hands-free function are just a few of them. In addition, the headphones adapt individually to the ambient noise. They are on sale for Amazon Prime Day on July 11th and 12th.

Amazon offers the over-ear headphones for Prime Day for 209 euros. In a price comparison, this is the best price for this model, which costs around 250 euros on average (RRP 397 euros). Most recently, the Sony WH-1000XM4 were particularly heavily reduced at the end of June 2023 – but here too, at 218 euros, they were almost ten euros more expensive than now.

Sony WH-1000XM4 reduced: are there alternatives?
This offer is definitely a bargain, but is it really worth buying? The Sony WH-1000XM4 are already three years old, and the over-ears no longer take the top spot for the best noise canceling. The Apple AirPods Pro 2 were the test winners at Stiftung Warentest (3/2023). At 239 euros, these are also available at a significantly reduced price on Prime Day. The Bose QuietComfort 45 are also a good deal for 179 euros with comparable performance. Even better ANC in over-ear format is currently only available with the successor Sony WH-1000XM5 and the AirPods Max from Apple.
