In De Kick-off, ESPN presenter Pascal Kamperman and former Ajax player Sonny Silooy discuss the sporting crisis at Ajax in detail. If all goes wrong, Ajax will have to enter the play-offs at the end of May to reach European football. However, the ArenA will already be in use for two concerts by De Toppers. As far as Silooy is concerned, no problem at all. “That’ll be fun, won’t it?”
Silooy believes that people should not get too far ahead of themselves. After all, it is far from certain that Ajax will enter the play-offs. Kamperman disagrees: “It is a realistic scenario.”
Both table guests also react differently to the suggestion to put Ron Jans forward as the future coach of Ajax. “He has done well at other clubs, but Ajax is a completely different club,” said Silooy. Kamperman: “Ron Jans could do a great job, but I don’t think the Ajax club can deal with a type like Ron Jans.”
