Son of Russian Defense Minister is trying to make it as a singer: “He lives in a beautiful parallel world where there is no war” | War Ukraine and Russia

While his father sends tens of thousands of Russian men to the front in Ukraine to fight for the fatherland, the son of Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu (68) tries to make it far from the war as a pop singer. This is reported by ‘Popular Politics’, a YouTube channel of supporters of Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny.

Shoigu is officially married. With his wife Irina (68), he has two daughters: Yulia (46), who works at the Ministry of Emergency Situations, and Ksenia (32), the head of the Russian Triathlon Federation. However, that does not prevent him from starting relationships with other women.

For example, the independent Russian newspaper ‘The Insider’ discovered a few years ago that Shoygu started an affair with flight attendant Elena Shebunova twenty years ago. She became very rich overnight thanks to some lucrative contracts with the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Emergency Situations. And she went to live in a luxurious villa in Rublyovka, west of Moscow. Many important politicians, wealthy business people and celebrities live there. Real estate prices are among the highest in the world.

The two would have three children: Danila (22), Dasha (15) and Stepan (12). All three went to an expensive private school. At the age of 19, Danila became the owner of two large office buildings in the center of Moscow, which he rents out for income. And now he is trying to make it in the music industry.

He started his singing career according to ‘Popular Politics’ a few days before the invasion of Ukraine. Under the stage name Sheba.Singer, he started posting covers of well-known songs on TikTok. A first music video followed in April. His most recent video is dated November 25, according to Team Navalny, the same day President Putin met the mothers of Russian soldiers who had fallen in Ukraine.

Danila’s singing career is not a great success for the time being. For example, he has barely 700 followers on YouTube and his covers can hardly appeal to more people. His videos, on the other hand, have between 90,000 and 153,000 views, which according to ‘Popular Politics’ is probably due to paid ‘bots’. His Instagram channel with 250 followers has since been made private.

“If you study his social networks, you see that the son of Shoigu lives in a beautiful parallel world, where there is no war, bombed cities, infant mortality and mobilization,” the site said. This is illustrated by some striking examples.

On April 15, when the rubble is cleared from a five-story building hit by a Russian missile in Slovyansk and a two-year-old child is recovered, Danila is performing on a stage.

On June 28 last year, one day after the Russian missile attack on a shopping center in Kremenchuk, he complains that he has a lot of work and can’t get a moment’s rest. Because he has to exercise, sing and has appointments with a beautician, hairdresser and in the solarium.

And four days before the partial mobilization on September 21 last year, he was on vacation in Turkey. He stayed on a yacht, went swimming in the sea and enjoyed a massage. While his peers were tracked down, dragged from their homes and sent to the slaughter at the front.
