His father became world champion with Italy. Cristian Totti will not kick in his footsteps. The teenager has decided to end his career.

The Italian footballer Cristian Totti hangs up his football shoes. “Yes, I stop, I decided,” said the central midfielder according to the Italian daily “La Nuova Sardegna”. He had been without a club since December 2024.

This makes it clear that the 19-year-old will not put the same big football career as his famous father. This is Francesco Totti, who had become world champion in Germany with the Italian national team in 2006. At AS Rome, the striker is also considered a club legend. Between 1993 and 2017, he had only played for the capital club and had become an Italian champion with him in 2001.

Cristian Totti also played for AS Rome. By 2023 he stood on the lawn for various youth teams of the association. Then he moved to the U19 from Frosinone, then to the U19 of the Spanish club Rayo Vallecano before moving back to Italy. He signed in Series D near Avezzano, but only hired to Olbia Calcio a month later – his last career station. Because in December he resolved his contract after only six missions.

Marco Amelia, who had trained Cristian Totti in Frosinone and until September in Olbia, said: “For me, he would have had a very good career as a player in series C and Series B.” The former goalkeeper also emphasized: “The fact that he is the son of Totti influenced the reviews.” Many people always had too high expectations of the teenager. There were also biased opinions based solely on its last name.

Despite his early career, Cristian Totti will probably not completely turn his back on foot. According to the report, he will work in a “Soccer School” founded by his father in the future. This is led by his uncle, Francesco Totti’s older brother Riccardo. In the team with general director Claudio d’Ulisse, Cristian Totti will search for young football talents in his new role.
