Fourniret was arrested on Sunday morning after allegedly raping a 16-year-old girl in an elevator. According to the French newspaper ‘Le Parisien’, he then tried to escape, but was apprehended. The man denies the allegations.
Selim Fourniret is the only son of the now deceased ‘monster of the Ardennes’ and his partner Monique Olivier. He was born in 1988.
Michel Fourniret died in May last year in the hospital of the Paris prison at the age of 79. The serial killer was sentenced to life in prison for the murders of seven young women between 1987 and 2001. Monique Olivier was convicted of complicity in five murders and one rape.
According to ‘Le Parisien’, Selim Fourniret has been living on the southern French Côte d’Azur for years, under a different identity.
