Son Linda de Mol showed very ostentatious favors: ‘Another fake baby!’

Not only Linda de Mol’s daughter, but also her son is favored by her uncle John de Mol’s media company. “This just shows once again how nepotism works.”

There is increasing resistance in society against rich, prominent people who give their friends and family nice jobs. Surely this does not fit in a society that strives for equal opportunities for everyone? The De Mol media family is having none of it; Nepotism is the order of the day there.

Known name

What have they been up to now? John de Mol had the opening tune of his new program De Bondgenoot made by Julian Vahle, the son of his sister Linda de Mol. “Together with Vincent van den Ende,” says media expert Victor Vlam. “These are also the two boys who made the tune for A Year of Your Life.”

Hey, that other kid already has a famous last name. “These are of course people who have quite a prominent surname and are part of prominent media families. Vincent van den Ende is the son of Joop van den Ende. And Julian Vahle is the son of Linda de Mol and therefore also the brother of Noa Vahle.”

Wheelbarrow

And we must continue to mention that, Victor continues in his podcast The Communicados. “I heard people say after Noa Vahle won the Televizier Talent Award: ‘Yes, she has a lot of talent, she is doing very well.’ And then there was also someone on Radio 1 who said: ‘Yes, you know, we should stop talking about that wheelbarrow.’”

Nonsense, Victor thinks. “I thought to myself: you know, no, we shouldn’t keep talking about that wheelbarrow, because that comment is justified. And this tune shows that. Julian Vahle and Vincent van den Ende are both people trying to break through in the music industry.”

Nepotism

Thanks to their background, this attempt has an above-average chance of success, Victor continues. “I can imagine that both have indeed been genetically gifted with a lot of talent, because, well, they come from very powerful media families. But at the same time, this also shows how nepotism works.”

He continues: “And I completely understand how that works. I don’t necessarily have a moral judgment about it either. I understand that John de Mol gives his nephew a chance and therefore gives Julian Vahle this assignment, but this is just how nepotism works. You will have many more opportunities than other people with a similar level of talent.”

Fake babies

Julian Vahle is undoubtedly talented, according to Victor. “But if he hadn’t been born into that family, he probably wouldn’t have made this tune. And again, I understand that’s how the world works.”

He concludes: “I accept that this is how the world works. However, on the other hand, we are allowed to talk about the fact that these are fake babies and then we are indeed allowed to make a comment about that wheelbarrow here and there. Because that’s just why they come, where they come.”
