Last Wednesday, many workers in the steel cord and fiber production stopped work. In protest against the way in which a colleague with twenty years of service was thrown out the door. There was a conciliation meeting all day with management, trade unions and an external mediator.
The dismissal will not be withdrawn, but the worker involved will receive compensation from Bekaert.
