Soccer Mommy has announced her new album SOMETIMES, FOREVER. The new long player is to be released by Loma Vista in June. The first single from the new album “Shotgun” has already been released.

After Soccer Mommy worked with indie producer Gabe Wax on the previous two albums CLEAN and COLOR THEORY, SOMETIMES, FOREVER was produced by Daniel Lopatin, who also worked with Oneohtrix Point Never.

Picking up where COLOR THEORY left off, the album is set to fuse lush synths with Soccer Mommy’s 2000s pop. The record takes its title from the concept that neither sadness nor happiness lasts forever – that our strongest emotions feel like they last forever but are quickly pushed aside by something new.

“Sadness and emptiness will pass, but they will always return – as will joy,” the artist said of the album’s theme. “At some point you have to say, I just have to take both.”

Soccer Mommy, whose real name is Sophie Allison, continued: “’Shotgun’ is all about the joys of falling in love. I wanted it to capture the little moments in a relationship that stay with you.”

There is also a music video for the new single. Directed by Kevin Lombardi, the video shows Soccer Mommy performing the song on the bed in her room – which quickly turns out to be a set. Stream the single and video here:

Soccer Mommy is currently on tour with the previous album COLOR THEORY. Following the release of the album SOMETIMES, FOREVER on June 24th, the singer will also embark on a UK and European tour. The tour will take her to Germany for four concerts. In September she will play one in Berlin, Bremen, Cologne and Hamburg – presented by Musikexpress.
