The military service is apparently done for the South Korean Min-jae Kim. The central defender is expected by SSC Napoli in Munich today. Now it could be quick with a transfer of the 26-year-old.

Cautious advance warning to all Munich residents: On Wednesday (July 5th, 2023) a “monster” is said to be in the city. It is male, 1.90 meters tall, has a square face and recently also did military service in South Korea. Sounds horrible, but there is no reason to worry. Because the man is not a real monster, as you know it from Hollywood films, it is just a nickname for the 26-year-old, which he earned as a tough central defender on the soccer field.

Apart from that, he is considered an affable type. The short introduction can therefore be understood with a wink. Ultimately, all of this has a little to do with Hollywood, because we’re talking about Min-Jae Kim. And he is about to move to the largest, but also most headline-grabbing German football club FC Bayern Munich. The Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano wants to have found out that he should complete the medical check on Wednesday.

Kim is considered a Hernández replacement – and should cost 50 million euros

Bayern want to pull the exit clause of around 50 million euros for Kim, he should replace Lucas Hernández, who is moving to Paris St. Germain. They murmur on Säbener Straße about the strongest defender in the Italian Serie A. Under certain circumstances, the South Korean could be presented as a new signing from Bayern this week.

“I think he’s a huge boost,” Austrian Andreas Herzog recently told “Sport1”. The former Munich Duke is Kim’s assistant coach in the national team, the team is coached by Jürgen Klinsmann.

Kim could relieve Kimmich

Defense chief Kim recently became champion with SSC Naples. The Campanians won the Scudetto for the first time since the days when Diego Maradona pulled the strings in midfield, quite a historic event at the foot of Vesuvius.

They say that the South Korean is extremely fast, defends uncompromisingly – and has a strong overview of the game structure. Bayern have been a little lacking in the latter recently, and this would relieve midfielder Joshua Kimmich a little.
