Soccer: Christian Eriksen back in the Danish national team – Soccer

The 30-year-old from Premier League club FC Brentford is one of the 23 players who have been nominated by national team coach Kasper Hjulmand for the two friendlies against the Netherlands and Serbia. “He’s fit, he’s really, really physically fit”, said Hjulmand about Eriksen. The level he showed after his return to Brentford was impressive.

Five Bundesliga players in Hjulmand’s squad

There are also five Bundesliga players in Hjulmand’s squad: In addition to Leipzig striker Yussuf Poulsen, there are Hoffenheim’s Jacob Bruun Larsen, Wolfsburg’s newcomer Jonas Wind and Jesper Lindström from Eintracht Frankfurt and Union Berlin’s Frederik Rönnow.

The Danes play the Netherlands in Amsterdam on March 26 and three days later at home in Copenhagen against Serbia. The team will prepare for this in Marbella, Spain.

Collapsed with cardiac arrest

Eriksen collapsed nine months ago at the European Football Championship in Copenhagen’s Parken Stadium during the game against Finland with a cardiac arrest on the pitch. Rescue workers managed to revive the 109-time Denmark international and thus save his life.
