Soccer, 2nd Bundesliga: Fortuna Düsseldorf: Jobst becomes Chairman of the Board, Allofs Sport Board Member – Soccer – Sport

Marketing expert Alexander Jobst will succeed Thomas Röttgermann as CEO of the second division soccer team Fortuna Düsseldorf. The 48-year-old resigned from his position as Marketing Director at Schalke 04 last summer after ten years. The Fortuna board is completed by Klaus Allofs (sport and communication) and Arnd Hovemann (finance).

The previous sports director Uwe Klein will be released and the contract of Marketing Director Christian Koke, which will expire in June, will not be extended. The club announced on Tuesday.

Jobst starts on February 14th

Jobst, who will start his work on February 14, has been appointed by the board of directors for a three-year term. He is in the second division 13. before a difficult task. Röttgermann, who has been in office since April 2019, had rejected an offer from the Supervisory Board to extend his contract. All attempts to make club legend Klaus Allofs Röttgermann’s successor were unsuccessful. The 65-year-old former Fortuna professional and trainer sees his responsibility more in the sporting field.

The 48-year-old Hovemann, who will take up his post on April 15, has been Director of Finance, Human Resources and Legal at Fortuna since August 2019. The sports economist previously worked in the Bundesliga for Mainz 05 and Schalke 04. The 52-year-old Klein worked at Fortuna for decades in various functions in the sporting field before he was appointed to the sports director in summer 2020.
